District 4 news] Fitchburg 2011 Green Expo - Transportation: Green Alternatives - Thurs., March 31, 5pm [85]

posted Mar 30, 2011, 2:54 PM by Oak Meadow Administration

This is the latest in a series of occasional newsletters on topics that may be of interest to Fitchburg District 4 residents.

Have you recently pulled into a gas station and cringed at the thought how much you are about to pay to fill up?  If you have, you're not alone.  Gas prices have risen $0.80 since this same time a year ago.  So you might ask:  What can I do to offset this ever increasing expense in my monthly budget?  It just so happens that Fitchburg's Resource Conservation Commission (RCC) has organized such an event to evaluate your alternatives at Promega's BioPharmaceutical Technology Center this Thursday (3/31/11).

Arrive at the event on your bicycle and receive preferred bicycle valet parking.  All event attendees will be entered in a drawing for door prizes and refreshments will be provided.

The event will feature exhibitors with local companies and organizations from 5:00 to 7:00pm with 30-minute workshops at 5:30 and 6:00.  At 7:00, a forum will begin in the auditorium with 3 distinguished speakers followed by a panel discussion from 8:00 to 8:30.  For more information on the event, visit "Upcoming Events" on the City of Fitchburg website at http://www.city.fitchburg.wi.us.
