Fitchburg Library: Parents as Teachers

posted Dec 1, 2010, 1:19 PM by Oak Meadow Administration

Parents and caregivers are a child's first and most important teachers.
What can we do to help our children be ready to read?  What can we do to
support the efforts of our children who are taking their first steps in
becoming readers?  Join us for two workshops focusing on promoting early
literacy skills using books by and about African Americans.  Each family
will receive a free book to take home.  Children will enjoy a story time with
a craft activity while parents learn how to help their children enjoy
success as readers.  Questions?  Call Megan at 843.5757.
