Dear Ron:
I appreciate your willingness to reach out to me and allow
me a chance to communicate through you to the Oak Meadow Neighborhood. As we
discussed, I feel like I have a pretty good grasp on the issues in there and
feel like my wife and I are at the same place in life that you and your wife
and many of your neighbors are at.
I decided to run for Mayor of Fitchburg because Fitchburg is a great place to
live, work and raise a family. We enjoy safe neighborhoods, quality public
services and a vibrant business climate. However, during these difficult
economic times, we cannot rest on our laurels. We must make our city even
better so that we can continue to enjoy what makes our community so special.
During the last two years as an Alderman, I have worked tirelessly listening to
your concerns and advocating on your behalf at City Hall. I am running to
become Fitchburg's next Mayor because our community, now more than ever, needs
leaders with the vision and the ability to bring our community together to
move us forward. We must work collaboratively to improve and grow our
city's business climate by balancing economic growth with environmental
protection, providing quality public services such as our new library, and
holding the line on taxes and spending.
Our community has a bright future, but we continue to face economic and budget
uncertainties that will challenge the next city leaders. As your Mayor, I will
listen to your concerns and work to find creative ways to make city government
more efficient and effective by investing in key priorities that ensure our
quality of life continues at a cost that our citizens can afford. I also plan
on working directly with the Oak Meadow Neighborhood on issues that relate to
the Madison School District. I strongly believe that we have to make sure that
families that move to Fitchburg have a voice in the direction of our
community's schools.
My campaign is
going extremely well. We have put together a great coalition of people – both
rural and urban – from all parts of Fitchburg. I have received key endorsements
from several of my colleagues on the City Council and from ALL of the past
Mayors of Fitchburg who want our next City leaders to work collaboratively to
improve and grow our city's business climate by balancing economic growth with
environmental protection, provide quality public services such as our new
library at an affordable price and demonstrate fiscal responsibility by holding
the line on taxes and spending.
I
ask you that you visit my website www.shawnpfaff.com to learn more about my campaign to
become Fitchburg’s next Mayor. Also, feel free to contact me at info@shawnpfaff.com if you have any questions.
Thanks again, and I greatly appreciate your support and your interest spreading
the word about my mayoral campaign.
Sincerely,
Shawn Pfaff
